Method of Preparation

Step 1- Marinate the chicken

Marinate the boneless chicken pieces with the lemon juice, salt, 1/2 tablespoon Maida ,

1/2 tablespoon cornflour and Kashmiri chilli powder. Coat the chicken well with this mixture. The Kashmiri chilli powder gives a nice red color to the mixture and the chicken should be kept marinated for 10 minutes.

Step 2- Prepare the batter

Add 3/4th cup of milk, 1 cup of maida and 3 eggs, A pinch of Sugar, Salt, Baking powder and pepper powder into a Blender. Blend it well for about 5 minutes.

Step 3- Fry the chicken

After 10 minutes of marination, fry the boneless chicken pieces in a frying pan using sunflower oil or vegetable oil.  Once fried, move the chicken pieces onto a separate plate and shred the fried boneless pieces into small strips

Step 4- Masala Preparation

After you move the fried chicken pieces onto a separate plate, prepare the masala in the same frying pan with the leftover oil so that the masala gets the taste of the fried chicken. To prepare the masala first sauté the ginger pieces, garlic cloves and green chilly in the oil. Once the raw smell disappears sauté the onion slices. Sauté the vegetables for a few minutes and you need not completely cook the vegetables. Add a pinch of salt for taste, cashew nuts, 1 teaspoon of Kashmiri Chili powder, ½ teaspoon Garam masala powder, ½ teaspoon meat masala powder, ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder and a pinch of pepper powder and sauté the mixture very well.

Further add 1 teaspoon of soya sauce and 2 teaspoons of tomato sauce and cook the masala on a low flame.  Now add the shredded chicken pieces to the masala and mix them both together.

Final Step

Take a non stick vessel and grease the vessel with ghee and place it over a pre heated tawa. Pour half of the  prepared batter into the vessel. Please note that the batter should not be in a watery consistency and should be semi thick like a dosa or idly batter. Cover the vessel and cook the batter for about 5 minutes.   After 5 minutes spread the masala chicken pieces on top of the batter. Further pour rest of the batter on the chicken and cover the chicken pieces completely with rest of the batter. Sprinkle the grated carrot on top of the batter. Close the vessel with the lid and cook the mixture on low flame for about 45 minutes.
