Chicken Roll Recipe
Chicken
Roll is a well known dish that is a favorite among the youngsters especially
the children. The wrong catch here is that this particular dish can turn out to
be a spoilsport if not prepared healthily.
This
homely recipe gives you the perfect and an easy way to prepare chicken rolls at
home in a very short span of time.
Preparation Time- 20 Minutes
Maida Pancake- Ingredients
- Maida- 1 medium bowl enough to make 6 maida rolls
- Milk- ½ glass
- Egg-1 Nos
- Salt- to taste
- Sugar- ½ tsp
- Pepper- 1 pinch
Masala-
Ingredients
- Shredded Boneless Chicken- 10 pieces cooked with salt, turmeric and pepper powder
- Chopped Onion-1 Nos
- Ginger Garlic Paste- 1 tsp
- Coriander Leaves- a handful
- Garam Masala- ¼ tsp
- Turmeric Powder- ¼ tsp
- Coriander Powder- ½ tsp
- Pepper Powder- 1 pinch
- Jeera- 1 pinch
Frying-
Ingredients
- Vegetable Oil/ Coconut oil for frying
- Bread Crumbs Powder- A medium bowl
- Egg-1 Nos
Maida Pancake Preparation Method
STEP-1 : Add
a little water to the milk, add ½ tsp sugar, a pinch of salt and a pinch of
pepper, beat an egg into the mixture and finally add the medium bowl of all
purpose flour into the mixture and whisk well and ensure that no lumps are
formed. Add extra water if required so that you get a semi- thick batter.
STEP-2 : Pre-heat
a dosa tava or a non stick pan. Smear oil to the pan and pour one ladle of
batter into the pan. Spread the batter around in the pan so that it appears
thin like a dosa. You do not have to flip it and you can remove the cake from
the pan once it is properly cooked on all the sides. Continue to make the
pancakes with the prepared batter.
Masala Preparation Method
STEP-3 : For
the masala preparation, heat oil in pan and add the jeera. After the jeera
splutters, add the chopped onion, garlic and ginger and sauté it well till the
raw smell disappears. Add a pinch of salt so that the onion gets cooked fast. Further
add a pinch of pepper powder, 1/4th tsp of turmeric powder, 1/4th
tsp of garam masala powder, ½ tsp coriander powder and continue to sauté. Now
add the pre cooked shredded chicken pieces and mix it well with the masala.
After the chicken masala gets ready garnish it with the coriander leaves.
STEP-4 : Once
the chicken masala cools down, just powder the mixture by grinding it for a
minute in the mixie.
Chicken Roll Preparation Method
STEP-5 : Beat
the second egg with a pinch of pepper in it and keep it aside. Next fill each
pancake with the prepared chicken masala on one end of the pancake. Further
roll from one end, fold the two ends and complete the roll so that the pancake
appears small. Make a gummy mixture of all purpose flour and water and seal
each end of the chicken filled pancake roll.
Once all the pancakes are ready, dip the filled pancakes in the egg
batter and roll it in the bread crumbs powder. Fry the pancake rolls in the oil
and continue frying till it turns golden brown. Remove from the fire and serve
it hot with tomato ketchup.
